Participation Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to attend.
For everyone's safety, participation requires completing a mental health screening and signing required agreements.
Do not book flights or make travel arrangements until your screening is complete and your spot is confirmed. Screenings will begin February 15th at the latest.
- If you believe you may meet any of our Exclusion Criteria, please email us so we can prioritize your eligibility review.

Practical Details

Prices are listed per person and include accommodation, shuttle service as outlined, access to Blue Spirit’s stunning grounds, pool, private beach trail, all meals, and a full retreat program.
All meals are served buffet-style and are primarily vegetarian.
Liberia Airport (LIR) does not have daily flights from all major cities. We strongly recommend checking flight availability before securing your spot for the retreat to ensure you can land by the 1:00 PM Saturday deadline.
This is a full-week retreat. Please only sign up if you can attend the entire program. If it is not possible to clear all your commitments this week, please consider joining us on a different retreat.
- Plan to arrive at the venue by 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 11th. Check-in will be from 3:00 to 4:00 PM with programming beginning at 5:00 PM.

Blue Spirit is located in Nosara, Costa Rica, overlooking Playa Guiones.

Primary Airport: Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) in Liberia.

Note: Liberia is approximately a 3-hour drive from the retreat center.

Complimentary Group Shuttles

We provide group transportation to and from LIR only on Saturdays (July 11 & July 18).

Arrival (Saturday, July 11): Shuttles run between 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM.
- ⚠️ Your flight must land by 1:00 PM to catch the last shuttle and arrive in time for our kickoff exercises.
Departure (Saturday, July 18): Shuttles depart for the airport between 9:00 – 10:00 AM.
- ⚠️ Please book a return flight that departs after 2:00 PM.
Travel Tip: The shuttle waits for all scheduled passengers to clear customs, with an estimated wait time of 45 minutes. If you prefer an immediate departure or are arriving outside these windows we recommend booking a private taxi. You are responsible for arranging your own transportation if you arrive or depart outside the Saturday windows listed above.

Additional Information

Meals

The kitchen focuses on organic, locally sourced ingredients to keep you fueled and energized. All meals are served buffet-style and are primarily vegetarian. High-quality, local fish is served three evenings per week.

For your enjoyment, Blue Spirit features an on-site café separate from the main buffet that serves specialty coffee, smoothies, and snacks throughout the day. Please note that while all your gourmet buffet meals are included in the retreat price, items from the café are not included and are available for individual purchase.

Air Conditioning

All guest rooms are equipped with air conditioning. However, common areas such as the dining area and certain open-air spaces are not air-conditioned.

Weather in July

July is part of Costa Rica’s green season, characterized by sunny mornings and occasional afternoon or evening rains. The tropical vegetation is lush, and temperatures typically range between 77–86°F (25–30°C). Participants should prepare for both sun and rain. While July is humid due to the rainy season, rooms with air conditioning mitigate the effects of humidity and dampness. BSCR housekeeping team works diligently to maintain clean and comfortable accommodations every day.

Rain Shelter and Walkways

Most areas are covered to provide shelter during rain. However, there are a few short uncovered stretches. We recommend participants bring rain gear for added convenience. Umbrellas are provided in each room and are also available in common areas.

Insects and Tropical Wildlife

Mosquitoes are common during this time of year, so we recommend participants bring insect repellent, it is also sold at the venue’s gift store. Additionally, due to the lush tropical environment, guests might occasionally encounter other insects or small wildlife, such as lizards or crabs near the beach. This is part of the charm of being surrounded by nature, and all rooms are equipped with screened windows to keep bugs and mosquitoes out.
